The Work of this project, designated Russell Carhouse - Modifications and Building Extension, comprises two (2) Work Packages:
Package 1 – Russell Carhouse - Modifications for New Low Floor Light Rail Vehicle (LFLRV): The Work of this Package consists of modifications to various areas and systems of the existing Carhouse including, but not limited to, interior track rail replacement on Tracks 2 and 4, partial replacement of Tracks 5 and 7, new high-level platforms on Track 4 complete with DC isolation switches and Kirk-Key isolation systems, extending the vehicle undercar wash bay on Track 5, removal of the existing wheel lathe on Track 7, restoration of pit areas and concrete platforms, other general modifications, and replacement of various safety systems as indicated in the Contract Documents.
Package 2 – Russell Carhouse Extension – Inspection Bay No. 3: The Work of this Package, more specifically comprises, but is not limited to, the Westward extension of the Carhouse within a single track Inspection Bay, inclusive of a new in-ground railcar hoist, overhead bridge cranes, vehicle roof access balconies, offices and ancillary spaces, and integration with existing exterior access tracks as indicated in the Contract Documents.
